The Procera Crown is an all-porcelain crown. It is a high quality material that mimics your real teeth better than just about any other product on the market.
For damaged teeth, the all-ceramic crown is a great option. Installation is quick and the resulting look is great! Dentists recommend an all-ceramic Procera crown over traditional crowns. The Procera crown has terrific esthetic qualities and it has a long lasting quality.
Benefits of Procera crowns:
Dr. Eifler estimates it will require two visits to complete your Procera crown and both visits can be accomplished in about one week’s time. You will be pleased with the convenience and nearly pain free process.
Dr. Eifler will explain the crown installation process to you. There is more than a single option available and your dentist will explain those to you as the best process depends on your unique situation.
1: Before The Procedure
Dr. Eifler will make an impression of the existing crown, which is used as the prototype for the new crown.
2: Preparing The Old Tooth
A temporary crown is attached, after your existing tooth is prepared.
3: Placing The New Crown
Your permanent crown is securely fitted, usually less than two weeks later and is expected to be in place for life.
4: End Result
Your new tooth should look just like all the other teeth in your mouth. Good oral hygiene is highly recommended (brushing and flossing) as well as regular appointments with our dental hygienist.
Porcelain Fused To Metal
The metal core crown (shown above) is a well known and well used solution. But the ceramic Procera crown, as described earlier, is much more esthetically pleasing than this option. The Procera crown and the metal core crown are about the same cost and that fact alone should steer more patients to the Procera option.
